Climbing into Nature: A Playful Journey Inside the Sunflower Gallery

At the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, imagination takes root in the Sunflower Gallery, an immersive exhibit where nature, play, and design come together in full bloom. Worlds of Wow partnered with our sister company, Kraemer Design & Production, to bring this vibrant environment to life through a custom indoor soft play structure that invites children to climb, explore, and connect.

At the heart of the space is a four-level soft play climbing structure, designed and manufactured by Worlds of Wow. Built entirely in green tones, the structure acts as a natural canvas, allowing Kraemer’s bold sunflower and bee-themed elements to shine while reinforcing the exhibit’s immersive, nature-inspired storytelling. The result is a cohesive environment where play seamlessly blends with visual design.

The structure itself offers a dynamic, multi-level experience that encourages physical activity, exploration, and imaginative play. Connected via a crawl tunnel to the exhibit’s iconic “World’s Tallest Climbable Sunflower,” the playground becomes part of a larger adventure, extending the play experience and creating a continuous journey for young visitors.

This collaboration highlights the power of integrated design where themed environments and thoughtfully engineered play structures work together to create something truly memorable.
