Modern Library Design Meets Play at Moorehead Public Library

Worlds of Wow partnered with Moorehead Public Library to create a modern indoor play environment that complements the architecture, finishes, and textures found throughout The Loop. Located within the children’s library and play area, this custom-designed space transforms a visit to the library into an active, engaging experience for families and young learners.

At the center of the project is a large indoor climbing structure that blends traditional play value with a sleek, updated aesthetic. Angled framing, two-tone blue paneling, and clear Lexan windows give the structure a contemporary appearance while maintaining the durability and excitement expected from a commercial indoor playground. Custom crawl tunnels connect multiple play components, encouraging exploration and movement throughout the structure.

To further support the modern design vision, the library selected steel-framed mesh barrier panels that add both safety and architectural appeal. These details help the play structure feel like a natural extension of the surrounding building rather than a standalone feature.

Because wood accents are a defining element throughout The Loop, that material inspiration was carried directly into the playspace. Worlds of Wow designed a custom wood climber complete with an integrated crawl tube, creating a warm, natural contrast to the modern steel and blue finishes.

The project also includes a dedicated toddler zone designed specifically for younger children. This area features soft play elements and custom interactive wall panels created by Worlds of Wow’s sister company, Wacky World Studios, providing age-appropriate sensory play and hands-on learning opportunities.

The result is a one-of-a-kind indoor playground that supports active play, imaginative exploration, and family engagement while beautifully matching the design language of Moorehead Public Library and The Loop.
